MBDA takes board meeting to Uitenhage

JUNE 11, 2015

For the first time in its history, the Nelson Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) will hold its quarterly Board meeting in Uitenhage on Thursday morning. The meeting will take place at the NMB Logistics Park, Uitenhage from 10h00.

"We are taking the cue and following the approach of the newly elected Executive Mayor, Dr Danny Jordaan, who, since being elected, has taken Council meetings outside of the city centre, and held meetings in the heart of our communities.

"Uitenhage is an integral part of the Bay and receives a fair share of the developmental budget of the Municipality through the MBDA. Indeed, one of the major projects that we have undertaken on behalf of the Municipality has been the Uitenhage city precinct revamp. It is therefore important that our Board meetings are reflective of the communities within which we work," MBDA Board Chairperson, Motse Mfuleni said.

Mfuleni confirmed that the next Board meeting following today's one, will be at the Helenvale Resource Centre, in the Northern Areas, where the MBDA is also managing a major community project on behalf of the Municipality.
