Mineral Resources Minister confirmed as replacement for Collins Chabane

President Jacob Zuma has announced that Mineral Resources Minister, Ngoako Ramatlhodi, would take over the position of Public Services and Administration Minister, left vacant by the death of former Minister, Collins Chabane, in March this year.

In a statement issued by The Presidency yesterday evening, Zuma also confirmed that former Free State MEC for Rural Development and Agriculture, Mosebenzi Zwane, had been appointed as the Minister for Mineral Resources.

“I wish to thank the Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, who has been acting as Minister of Public Service and Administration since March this year, [and] wish both Mr Zwane and Adv Ramathlodi well in their new portfolios,” Zuma said.

Zwane is expected to be officially sworn-in at the Union Buildings later this afternoon.
