Minister Nhleko again expected to visit Northern Areas

MARCH 23, 2016

The Chairperson of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS), Minister Nkosinathi Nhleko, will visit again the troubled Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth on Thursday.

The visit is a follow up to the public meeting that was held in Booysens Park on 22 February 2016 to address crime - and particularly, gangsterism that has taken root in the area and has resulted in several residents either being wounded or losing their lives in gang turf wars.

Minister is expected to begin his visit with a walk-about in Bethelsdorp and Gelvandale from 09:45 to 11:45. The walk-about will commence from the Bethelsdorp police station and will follow the Minister to various areas.

Afterwards, he is expected to hold a briefing between 12:00 and 12:30 at the Resource Centre in Gelvandale.
