Missing Algoa Park teen found murdered, police appeal for leads

The body of a missing teenager from Missionvale, Algoa Park, was found early on Monday morning, outside a house in the same area, Port Elizabeth police said.

"It is alleged that on 13 June 2016, at about 19:00, Charmaine Magielies (17) left home in Camaro Street to visit her brother who resides nearby," said police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"At about 03:00, the following morning (14 June 2016), she left her brother’s house. Later that day, her parents reported her missing at SAPS Algoa Park.

"At about 05:15, today, her body was found lying outside a house in Kadett Street, Missionvale. She was wrapped in blankets and tied up."

Circumstances surrounding her death is under investigation and police have opened a murder case.
