Eastern Cape police have reportedly arrested a 25 year-old suspect in connection with the murder of 68 year-old Pamela Burns after she was reported missing from her home in Port St Johns on Friday.

Burns' body was found just outside Mthatha with stab wounds to her upper body.

According to Eastern Cape police, in an earlier statement, her son said that she was staying alone in her Port St Johns beach house and after she went missing they noticed that someone had tried to withdraw money from her bank account at Libode, at about 02:00 on Saturday morning, and again in East London, at about 11:00.

Police are investigating a case of murder.
