Motsoeneng case heading to Supreme Court of Appeal

BY CHARL BOSCH - JUNE 3, 2015

The Western Cape High Court has postponed the appeal hearing of suspended South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Chief Operating Officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, with the matter now expected to be heard in the Bloemfontein Supreme Court of Appeal in September.

In passing his verdict two months ago, High Court Judge Ashton Schippers placed Motsoeneng on suspension of 60 days pending the outcome of an investigation brought the Democratic Alliance (DA) of alleged misconduct, which included him lying about his academic qualifications, upping is salary from R1.5 million to R2.4 million in less than a year, and getting rid of senior board members without authorisation.
