Mt Frere police commended for weekend arrests

Mount Frere, acting Cluster Commander, Colonel Nomazwi Nkombisa, has commended police officers in his area for the good work done over the weekend after 19 suspects were arrested for various crimes.

Amongst these successes, a 16-year-old boy was arrested for dealing in dagga at Magxeni Location, Sulenkama A/A on the Saturday afternoon.

It is alleged that police were conducting foot patrols and they suspected this man and requested to search his beg. It is further alleged they they found 46 parcels of dagga  with the estimated value of +-R2000.

In another incident, 18 suspects were arrested for different crimes including Selling Liqour without licence, public drinking, drunken driving,murder, assault common, failure to display disk, failure to brand, possession of ammunition, immigration act and fraud.

Some of the suspects have appeared before Qumbu and Mount Frere Court.   

"The arrest of the above culprits will serve as a deterrence to would be law breakers in our policing precinct," said the Cluster Commander.
