FEBRUARY 25, 2015

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber will launch the fourth instalment of its annual Top 40 Under 40 list of young business achievers on Wednesday. The annual list, which draws nominations from Business Chamber members and the general public, is a celebration of the contribution made by young people under the age of 40 to business in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The 2015 list, which will be announced at The Plantation today includes marketers and accountants, restaurateurs and athletes, MD’s, CEO’s, broadcasters and publishers.

“This annual list provides without a doubt that Nelson Mandela Bay has access to a pool of talent to rival that of any other city in the country,” says Nicole Klokow, who runs the Top 40 Network as convener of the Top 40 Under 40.

“Through the Top 40 Network, we give these dynamic young achievers to opportunities to make business connections and grown as entrepreneurs and corporate leaders. We want to see young business leaders flourish, as they play a critical role in the future of the Bay’s economy.”

Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO, Kevin Hustler, extended his congratulations to this year’s Top 40 achievers.

“It rests on the shoulders of young business leaders like these to take positive action to grow our region’s economy,” he says.

Past achievers say that being on the Top 40 Under 40 has had a positive impact on their careers. Devereaux Joubert of The Code Group was successfully nominated to the 2014 list along with his business partner, Mohamed Cassim.

“The Top 40 Network gives your business amazing exposure and credibility,” says Joubert. “I don’t know of a better, more supportive initiative for young business.”

Fellow achiever Ellen Fischat of SEDA NMB ICT Incubator, where she is Enterprise Development Manager, ICT Incubation, believes that the contacts she has made have had a direct impact on her business: “Events on the Top 40 Network are so relevant and engaging, they make networking effortless.”

“Being named to the Top 40 Under 40 has been the highlight of my career,” says Tasmia Ismail, General Manager at Die Burger, who appeared on the 2014 list of achievers.

“The opportunity helped me expand my business thinking far beyond my industry. If only all future business leaders could have this opportunity at least once.”
