Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality to unveil two new parks in Motherwell in celebration of Arbor Week

In celebration of the Arbor Week, which runs from 1-7 September 2014, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's Parks Department will officially open two newly developed parks in Motherwell on Tuesday.

One is Bunyuluza Park (Ward 57) and the other is Sthathu Park (Ward 56).

The Municipality has invited school-children and community members from the surrounding areas to attend the day's celebrations. Parks Department officials will interact with the community and schoolchildren about the importance of nature conservation and the planting of trees. School-children from the surrounding schools will also be given an opportunity to plant trees. They will then adopt the trees they have planted and assist in their preserving and upbringing.

If time allows, the delegation, led by the members of the Mayoral Committee, will visit the Motherwell Cemetery to inspect the newly constructed tar roads in the Cemetery.
