NMMU #FeesMustFall leaders arrested

BY JESICA SLABBERT - OCTOBER 17, 2016

A video has been released on the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) #FeesMustFall movement’s Facebook page showing leaders of the movement being arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS) on Monday afternoon.

It is unclear what led to the arrest of the three students, but there is speculation that it was due to an illegal gathering on the University’s campus.

Port Elizabeth police could not comment on the arrests as they are not authorised to comment on #FeesMustFall related matters, which are handled by the national police head office.

The names of the students cannot be revealed until they appear in court.

More information coming, as soon as we have it.
