No morning blackouts, but evening supply might be constrained: Eskom

JULY 13, 2015

Eskom has said that there would be no load shedding on Monday morning as the power system was stable.

“The power system is currently stable, and this will enable Eskom to perform maintenance without load shedding,” the power utility said.

However, Eskom said the system was expected to be constrained during the evening peak period (5pm– 9pm) because of increased electricity demand.

“As we are currently experiencing cold weather conditions across the country, we urge electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm.”
