NSRI issues storm warning for coastal regions and water ways

APRIL 29, 2016

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) on Thursday issued a storm warning advising boaters, paddlers, bathers and anglers to be cautious around the coast and on inland water ways.

This "follows on numerous weather and flood predictions and warnings posted by the SA Weather Service and Disaster Risk Management Operations around the country as we brace for a cold front due to land this Thursday evening", the NSRI said.

"NSRI urges extreme caution around the coast and on inland water ways and advise the public to keep a watch on weather and storm related information and heed warnings posted by the necessary authorities and to take the necessary safety precautions.

"Big sea swells, storm conditions, strong winds forecast to be gale force winds in places can be expected."
