Off-duty Port Alfred police officer commended for arresting two with stolen vehicle

An alert off-duty Port Alfred officer, Constable Luvuyo Kimbili, from the town's Highway Patrol Unit, has been lauded after he busted two suspects with a stolen vehicle after noticing them acting suspiciously.

According to Port Alfred police; "[The Constable] noticed two males in a Toyota Yaris acting suspiciously on Wednesday, at 14:00.

"He checked the vehicle with colleagues via a chat group and it was confirmed that the vehicle was being sought as stolen."

Constable Kimbili called for back-up from on-duty members, the correct and safe procedure to follow.

Two suspects, aged 27 and 43 years, were arrested and are expected in court soon.

It has emerged that the vehicle had been stolen in Welkom.
