ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL: Trollip to visit neglected sports centre in KwaNobuhle

OCTOBER 5, 2015

The Democratic Alliance's (DA) Eastern Cape leader and its Nelson Mandela Bay Mayoral candidate for the 2016 Local Government Elections, Athol Trollip, is expected on Tuesday to  do an oversight visit of a neglected multi-purpose sports centre in KwaNobuhle.

"It has been reported that tens of millions of Rands were spent on constructing the Sizakele Khanzi Sports Centre. Sadly, the facilities now lie in ruin and at the mercy of thieves and vandals," the DA said in a statement.

"This complex should provide a platform for aspiring sportsmen and women to reach their dreams, but instead it is a monument to governmant failure and maladministration."

Trollip is currently on his 60 wards in 60 days tour, speaking to the Caring City pillar of the DA's vision for Nelson Mandela Bay.

Trollip will announce how a caring city, under the DA, would cater to aspiring sportsmen and women, through well-maintained and quality municipal facilities.
