APRIL 13, 2016

Eastern Cape police on Wednesday fought running battles with residents of  Breidbach, in King  Williams Town, after the residents blocked off the N2 Highway between Berlin and King Williams Town with rocks and burning debris, during a service delivery protest that began in the morning.

One man was arrested by the police for public violence as the protesters began stoning vehicles.

Police responded with rubber bullets and tear gas to try and disperse the crowd.

However, according to the SABC, residents vowed to make the area ungovernable until the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality addresses their concerns.
