One day supply of blood remaining - donors needed

APRIL 6, 2015

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) said on Sunday the remaining blood stock in the Blood Bank can only last until Tuesday - and urged blood donors to come forward as soon as possible.

During the holiday period, blood stocks usually run low due to road crashes as people who get injured mainly depend on blood transfusions.

"Our blood stocks will only last for the next two days. So, we are calling on all those donors to do the right thing and save a person's life. Potential donors can visit any of our nationwide offices or call 0800 11 90 31 for more information," SANBS Marketing Manager in KZN, Sifiso Khoza, told the SABC.
