Over 50 suspects arrested in King Williams Town for various crimes over the weekend

More than 50 suspects, aged between 21 and 52 years, are expected in various courts around King Williams Town, after they were arrested by local police in weekend anti-crime operations over the weekend.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, the suspects were arraeted for crimes that include rape, assault, housebreaking and theft, drunken driving, murder, contravention of protection order, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of dagga and theft out of motor vehicles.

King William’s Town Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga, thanked the members for job well done and for being vigilant when patrolling their policing precinct.

He also encouraged them to keep on patrolling the area to prevent and combat crime.

"We will keep on doing stop and search and roadblocks to prevent crime in our area, he also encouraged the community members to report any criminal activities to 08600 10111," Captain Mawisa.
