Over 70 000 Eastern Cape residents without power after storm

While announcing that the risk of load shedding is low for today, Eskom on Tuesday morning also said that it was aware that over 70 000 customers in several Eastern Cape municipalities were without power after a storm.

The power utility called on residents of the King Sabatha Dalindyebo, Intsikayethu Mbhashe andMnquma municipalities to be patient as its technicians were working to return the supply.

"Custmers are cautioned to treat all electricity appliances as live during a power failure," Eskom said.

Cahora Bassa maintanance complete 

“As previously stated, exports from Cahora Bassa in Mozambique are expected to get to full capacity of 1 500MW today. Maintenance work at the hydroelectric dam has been ongoing since last week,” said the power utility.

The utility encouraged its customers to continue to use electricity efficiently throughout the day
