Panayiotou hitman's relative in custody for murder of elderly woman

SEPTEMBER 1, 2015

The third suspect arrested on Sunday in connection with the robbery and murder of an elderly Kabega Park woman on the 20th of August is related to alleged hitman Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, who is in custody for allegedly killing Port Elizabeth teacher Jayde Panayiotou in April.

This emerged when 24-year-old Thanduxolo Vumazonke appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, with two other suspects, Fikile Mengo and Mkhuselo Ngqanda, in connection with the murder of 78-year-old Marlene Webber.

Mengo and Ngqanda were arrested on Friday and Saturday after one of the suspects handed himself over to the police on Friday.

Port Elizabeth police reportedly confirmed that Vumazonke is indeed a relative of Sizwezakhe Vumazonke.

The case against the three was postponed to the 8th of September.
