Parks win appeal to host semi-final in EC inter-club Super 12 Rugby Competition at Londt Park

After Parks won an appeal against Springrose for fielding an ineligible player when the two sides met at Londt Park in round one, four log points were deducted from the New Brighton outfit – lending over a shuffle in the semi-finals.

In the aforementioned clash, Parks went down 22-17, but the four-point deduction cost Springrose their first place finish and they now end second in Group A instead.

Additionally, Parks get four points added to their tally, meaning they total 20 table points against Springrose’s 18 (formerly 22). Gardens, who were second in Group A on 17 points, now fall out of the semi-final contention.

Parks, being the first-placed Group A side, will play Group B runners-up, EL Police at Londt Park in PE. The other semi-final clash will see Group B leader, Progress, play Springrose in Central, Uitenhage – with both semi-finals scheduled for Saturday, 11th March at 15:30.

The semi-finals were due to take place last weekend, but Gardens, who made an appeal for having to drop out of the semi-final contention due to Parks win-over appeal, ultimately postponed the two games until this Saturday.
