PE police search for women rapists - similar cases in Zim

Port Elizabeth police are searching for three women who allegedly kidnapped a 33-year-old man at gunpoint and took turns to rape him before fleeing with his semen in a cooler box. Police say the alleged incident took place in an open field in Kwazakhele on Tuesday morning.

The victim claimed that the women were driving a black BMW when they stopped and asked him for directions.

When he tried to assist, he was forced into the car and told to drink something out of a bottle, before the alleged rape.

Attacks by female rapists have also made headlines in Zimbabwe over the past three years, with speculation that the women target hitch-hikers to collect semen which they then use or sell for traditional get-rich-quick potions.

In 2011, in a case that shocked the country, three women were arrested in the country's town of Gweru, after more than 30 used condoms were found in their car.

They went on trial charged on 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault - as Zimbabwean law does not recognise the act of a woman raping a man.

According to the BBC, Zimbabwean police believed then that there was a nationwide syndicate of women raping men, possibly to use their semen for rituals to become wealthy or was sold outside of the country.

Truth of false - the cases have the same modus operandi where the women would either inject their victims with unidentified concotion after offering them a lift or abducting them at gunpoint and forcing them to drink a liquid before taking turns to rape them after which they would collect the semen.
