Plane forced to land in Bloemfontein

AUGUST 14, 2015

A plane was forced to land at Bram Fischer International Airport in Bloemfontein on Thursday afternoon due to a technical problem, the Airports Company of SA said.

"There was an SA Express that was on its way from George to OR Tambo International Airport when it experienced a problem and had to divert to Bram Fischer International Airport," spokesperson Colin Naidoo told News24.

"This happened around 15:00 today [Thursday]."

The aircraft, carrying four crew members and 63 passengers, landed safely.

"It did not disrupt any operations at Bram Fischer. The Civil Aviation Authority will be looking into the matter further," Naidoo said.
