Police appeal for leads after ANC councillor and wife gunned down in Tsolo

AUGUST 12, 2016

Eastern Cape police on Friday morning appealed for help from anyone, who might have information that might assist them in their investigations after the former African National Congress (ANC) Council Speaker of Mhlontlo Local Municipality was gunned down together with his wife on Thursday night.

Zolile Malangeni and his wife were shot dead in their home in Mayalulweni village in Tsolo. Malangeni recently made it onto the ANC’s proportional council representative list for that municipality following the 2016 Local Government Elections last week Wednesday.

At this point the motive for the murder is unknown.
