The Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in Port Elizabeth is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing an alleged rape suspect.

"It is alleged that on Saturday, 4 March 2017, at about 14:05, the complainant (34 years old) was walking from Bloemendal to Kleinskool to board a taxi to Missionvale," said policesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"On her way, she met an unknown male, whom she asked for a light for her cigarette.

"They struck up a casual conversation with each other and the person walked with her.

"On the way, as they neared some bushy area, the suspect pushed her into the bushes and raped her."

Colonel Naidu said that the victim was also stabbed.

"He is about 29-31 years old and has a scar on his left cheek. He was wearing an earring with a coin sign on his right ear. He told the victim that his name was Shaun.
