The search for 82-year-old Nohlile Potwana, who was reported missing on the 29th of October, was called off after the East London Mounted Unit and K9 Unit found her body lying in a nearby valley next to a stream, 10 kilometres away from her house in Lovertwist Admin Area in Bell, Port Alfred.

Police officers found the body while conducting search operations in the area on Tuesday morning.

“The deceased was reported by her granddaughter, whom she lived with that she left the house to go to the ablution block, which is in the yard and did not return,” said police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender.

She added that an inquest docket has been opened for investigations.
