Police seek public assistance in locating missing Port Elizabeth fisherman

Police in Algoa Park are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing a Port Elizabeth fisherman believed to have gone missing while returning from Maputo, in Mozambique.

According to police information, 59 year-old Cornelius Johannes Van Der Westhuizen left Port Elizabeth about year ago to work on the fishing boats at Emapum Fishery at the Maputo harbour.

Up until the 30 November 2015, when his contract expired, he was in contact with his wife, Renee Van Der Westhuizen. He was due back in Port Elizabeth a few days later.

Since then, his wife has lost all communication with him.  

The Van Der Westhuizens reside in Marais Township, Sidwell in Port Elizabeth.
