Port Elizabeth entreprenuer reaches ENGEN Pitch & Polish semi-finals

NOVEMBER 4, 2015

An emerging entrepreneur from Port Elizabeth, Jean-Pierre Malgas, has made it into the semi-finals of the 2015 ENGEN Pitch & Polish and has added great value to the programme, earning much respect thanks to his accounting software business idea.

ENGEN Pitch & Polish is a lateral thinking national workshop and competition designed to give local entrepreneurs the opportunity to “polish” their “pitch”, to equip them with the tools to pitch for funding in order to advance their business or business idea. 2015 marks the sixth year for this annual workshop and competition which has grown year on year.

Pitch & Polish is available to entrepreneurs thanks to sponsor Engen Petroleum Ltd, powered by business incubator, Raizcorp, with national media partner SAfm and the QuadPara Association of South Africa, as well as local stakeholders, Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber and The Hope Factory and local media partner, Bay FM.

The programme features five stages: Round 1, Round 2, SAfm Wild Card, semi-final and final.

Round 1 for this year's competition was attended by over 1 400 delegates in eight cities and towns across South Africa.

The winner from each event succeeded in going through to Round 2 where the eight winners, plus the SAfm Wild Card winner, were flown to Raizcorp in Johannesburg for a two-day workshop to further deepen their business knowledge and refine their pitch.

ENGEN Pitch & Polish contributes to a powerful pitch which creates a ripple-effect of growth, success and the opportunity for change.
