JUNE 9, 2015

A man from Port Elizabeth was admitted to hospital on Tuesday afternoon after being shot under unclear circumstances in Kleinskool, the city's Bethelsdorp suburb.

According to Port Elizabeth police, the 35-year-old victim was talking to his brother outside a house when a taxi pulled up next them.

A man carrying a firearm jumped out of the taxi at which the victim ran into the house with the assailant chasing after him.

Moments later, several shots were fired and the still to be identified victim was hit several times.

No arrests have yet been made.

Bethelsdorp has witnessed a number of shootings in recent months - some of which police believe are gang related.
