Port Elizabeth police on Thursday said they managed to recover a vehicle that was hijacked in KwaNobuhle, Uitenhage, and abandoned in New Brighton.

It is alleged that two armed men forced their way into a home in Tati Street, KwaNobuhle, and held the owner at gunpoint before they demanded keys to a red VW Vivo, which they fled in.

A case of armed robbery and hijacking was opened at KwaNobuhle police station and police are now following up on leads.

“Anyone with the knowledge of the two suspects is requested to contact the SAPS KwaNobuhle station or crime stop,” said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.
