Port Elizabeth police seek public assistance after brazen gang hit kills 40 year-old man

According to Port Elizabeth police, the man, who was killed in a hail of bullets on Tuesday along Govan Mbeki, close to the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court, has been identified as 40 year-old, Cheslyn Jaggers. Police believe it was another brazen gang shooting.

Jaggers was killed when unidentified gunmen, driving a Mazda Etude, opened fire on the a Citi Golf that he was in when it stopped at traffic lights in Govan Mbeki Avenue. More than ten bullets were fired at the vehicle.

In the incident, two other men, who were in the car were wounded, while a fourth escaped unhurt.

The men were on their way to the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court when they were waylaid.

Police have not made any arrests and are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying the gunmen.
