Possible Chippa coaching role for Cloete

JUNE 23, 2016

Chippa United defender, Ruben Cloete, is being considered to form part of the coaching structures at the club after his 18-month contract expires at the end of June.

Head Coach, Dan Malesela, hinted at a possibility that Cloete may still remain involved with the club through coaching, but the 33-year-old told KickOff that nothing has yet been finalised.

“For now, nothing is clear, but I can confirm that I still haven’t retired,” Cloete said.

Cloete has indicated that he will keep an open mind for his future prospects in long term commitments, but that his playing career is not yet cast in stone.

“Even though I would still love to keep on playing, I have to be open-minded about everything so that if the opportunity to coach comes up, then it could appeal more to me as it will be long-term,” he said.

“The coach also did indicate something to do with coaching towards the end of last season, but those discussions are still premature and we will see where all this talk leads to,” he added.
