Possible water supply disruptions to several parts of Nelson Mandela Bay on Wednesday

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality on Tuesday advised residents that the Nooitgedagt Water Treatment Works will be shut down for 24 hours on Wednesday, for essential scheduled work in terms of the Phase 2 upgrading of the Works.

Over this period, residents in the following areas could possibly experience water supply outages:

  • Parts of Uitenhage
  • Despatch
  • KwaDwesi
  • KwaMagxaki
  • Joe Slovo
  • Bethelsdorp
  • Bloemendal
  • Chatty
  • Coega
  • Motherwell
  • Wells Estate
  • Blue Water Bay
  • Colchester

"The Municipality appeals to consumers in these areas to work very sparingly with water over this period, using it for essential purposes only, as this could assist in minimising  supply disruptions in their area," the municipality said.
