Power grid may be constrained but expect no load shedding: Eskom

SEPTEMBER 21, 2015

After almost a week of no load shedding, Eskom on Monday warned users to minimise consumption as the grid was constrained.

"Load shedding risk is low despite an increase in electricity demand due to chilly weather. Use electricity efficiently and minimise the risk," the power utility said.

Eskom implemented stage 1 load shedding last week Monday for the first time in 35 days.

While the utility warned of possible load shedding last week after the Cahora Bassa Scheme went offline for maintanance, the reserves Eskom had built meant it did not need to load shed.
