President Jacob Zuma opposed to Winnie Madikizela Mandela accessing Madiba's Qunu Homestead


President Jacob Zuma is reportedly opposed to Winnie Madikizela Mandela having access to documents relating to former president Nelson Mandela’s Qunu property.

The President is said to have filed a notice to oppose her reported application to have access to the government papers.

Madikizela filed papers in the Mthatha High Court challenging Mandela's estate in October.

That same month, the African National Congress (ANC) stalwart also reportedly claimed in papers filed in the same court that her divorce from Nelson Mandela was fraudulently obtained - read more here.

Nelson Mandela committed ‘land fraud’

She claimed Mandela may have committed land fraud when he registered a plot of land in Qunu, in his own name.

Madikizela says the abaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo gave her the land while Mandela was in prison.

She's now seeking the rights to the Qunu home.

Omitted from will

Madikizela, 78 years, was Mandela's second wife for 38 years and was left out of Mandela's will. Mandela died in December last year.
