Q&A: Zuma to appear in Parli today

BY CHARL BOSCH - NOVEMBER 19, 2015

President Jacob Zuma is expected to make his final appearance before the National Assembly later this afternoon, to answer questions from MP’s.

According to the official programme released by Parliament, questions include government’s position on the ongoing water shortages, South Africa’s relations with India, the rollout of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) technologies, public accountability relating to the transformation of tertiary education institutions, and South Africa’s recent hosting of a delegation from Hamas.

Three of the questions are to be asked by members from the ruling African National Congress (ANC), with the remaining three coming from the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP).

It is however expected that Zuma would face criticism following his recent comments that the interest of the ANC comes before those of the country.
