Queenstown man due in court for shooting dead four family members


A 47 year-old male suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday for allegedly shooting and killing four family members on Thursday at Qaqeni Location near Queenstown.

Without disclosing the motive for the incident, Queenstown police said that the suspect is believed to have burst into his home in Qaqeni Location, Ndonga, with a loaded firearm and promptly started shooting at the members of his family, who were in the home.

“Lady Frere SAPS made an arrest the following day, Friday, after receiving information about the crime,” said Queenstown police spokesperson, Lieutenant Namhla Mdleleni.

Lt Mdleleni said that those killed in the shooting were between the ages of 11 and 70 years old.

The firearm is seized at Lady Frere SAPS.
