R283 600 in grants-in-aid for arts and culture

A Budget and Treasury sub-committee has recommended that grants-in-aid totalling R283 600 should be awarded to applicants from the fields of arts and culture. The Grants-In-Aid Sub-Committee has recommended that R100 000 should be given to the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and that the same amount should be given to the South End Museum Trust.

The sub-committee has also recommended that The Feathermarket Organ Society should receive R53 600. In addition, it has recommended that the Eastern Province Society of Arts and Crafts should receive R20 000 and Friends of the Nelson Mandela Bay Art Museum R10 000.
