Reckless driving leads to arrest of four alleged money counterfeiters

Four men are expected in court soon after they were busted by the Port Elizabeth Flying Squad, K9 Unit and Provincial Divers on Wednesday morning in possession of a huge sum in  counterfeit money.

According to the police, police officers were patrolling when a vehicle drove recklessly and passed the members, who was driving in a marked police vehicle.

"The members managed to stop the car and searched the suspects to ascertain if they had any weapons in their possession.

"On one of the passengers, police discovered a counterfeit R200 note," the police described.

"The officers searched the vehicle and suspects and found a total of R13 500 in counterfeit notes."

Following investigations at one of the suspect's home in KwaDwesi led to the discovery of a printer and computer used to produce the counterfeit notes.

All documents and computer equipment were seized and four suspects were arrested.
