Rhodes student hands himself over to police

A Rhodes University student involved in the hit-and-run incident that left 20-year-old Khanya Ndimba, from Fernglen in Port Elizabeth dead, has reportedly handed himself over to police.

The hit-and-run accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The suspect, believed to be from Durban, was accompanied by a parent when he presented himself to police. He was not arrested but will be meeting with the investigating officer on Monday.

Ndimba and a friend were on their way to a shop after a night of studying when she was hit by the car.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and leaving the scene of a crime.
