Robbery and murder trial of Vumazonke relative resumes in PE court

The robbery and murder case against a man, related to alleged hitman Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, and his two accomplices is expected to resume in Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court today.

Thanduxolo Vumazonke, 24, appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court last Tuesday, with two other suspects, Fikile Mengo and Mkhuselo Ngqanda, in connection with the robbery and murder of 78-year-old Marlene Webber in her Kabega Park granny flat on the 20th of August.

Vumazonke was arrested two Sundays ago. Mengo and Ngqanda were arrested on the Friday and Saturday after one of the suspects handed himself over to the police on Friday.

Port Elizabeth police confirmed that Vumazonke is indeed a relative of Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, who is in custody for allegedly killing Port Elizabeth teacher Jayde Panayiotou in April.
