Rooftop Productions joins up with UNICEF to communicate strong messages

BY ROOFTOP PRODUCTIONS - APRIL 30, 2015

Rooftop Productions along with UNICEF New York and UNICEF Chad filmed two short documentaries which each show two different, yet powerful messages.

One of the short films has the theme of "Closing the Immunization Gap" which focuses public attention on the importance of vaccination for all children.

The second film is a short documentary on refugees affected by the CAR crisis, staring an amazing little girl named Assia Issa.

This parallel story of two mothers and their babies is the flagship video being released for the World Immunization Week 2015 campaign this week. The short film was shot entirely on location around Port Elizabeth over a week in March. It has been directed and edited by Kyle Lucas.

UNICEF: Crisis in CAR - A Refugee Story

On a recent trip to central Africa, Rooftop Productions along with UNICEF Chad, visited the Danamadja refugee camp. Tasked with shooting a short documentary on refugees affected by the CAR crisis, their mission was to find the story on the ground and try and tell it in the best way possible to engage support for the work UNICEF is doing in Chad. On their journey they found their perfect candidate in an amazing little girl named Assia Issa.
