Rooftop Productions looking for actors for three UN Childrens' Fund videos

BY SUPPLIED - MARCH 6, 2015

Over the next month, Rooftop Productions will be filming and producing three videos for the United Nations Childrens' Fund (UNICEF).

The aim of the first two videos is to promote the importance of immunization in saving children's lives around the world. Vaccines save the lives of over 3 million children every year, and it is a fundamental human right that every child have access to health care, but today we still find that 1 in 5 children does not have access to these vaccines. UNICEF is working with its partners to close the gap and ensure that every child has access to life saving vaccines, no matter what their circumstances.

The third video is aimed to raise awareness around Ebola, and what it has been like for the communities and people of west Africa fighting the disease. We will be filming this video in Port Elizabeth as well, but require West African actors in order to create a little bit of Sierra Leone here in Port Elizabeth.

To make these videos, Rooftop is looking for the following actors based in Port Elizabeth or willing to travel through to Port Elizabeth for auditions and filming:

  • 2 African moms, each with a baby between the age of 6 - 12months. Filming would take place in the week of 16 - 21 March, so potential actors would need to be available in this time.
  • 6 children between the ages of 4 - 7 years old who are confident in front of camera. We are looking for children to represent a global community, so all accents are welcome (British, German, Korean, Chinese, Italian, American etc). Filming would take place in the week from 25 - 30 March.
  • 1 African teen girl between the ages of 14 and 17 years of west African descent (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea would be preferable). Filming would take place in the week of 13 April.
