Ruling on AbaThembu King’s petition set for Tuesday

DECEMBER 29, 2015

The Department of Correctional Service is expected to make an announcement on Tuesday afternoon regarding the submission of documents by beleaguered AbaThembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo.

Dalindyebo, who was sentenced to 12-years behind bars for crimes committed between June 1995 and January 1996, failed to show up at the Mthatha Maximum Correctional Facility last Wednesday, after his legal team submitted a petition to have Minister Michael Masutha review the case

Last week, the Mthatha High Court extended Dalindyebo’s bail conditions until December 30th instead of having the charges dropped.

The ruling is due to start at 14h00.
