SA Weather issues numerous warnings for ECape

APRIL 29, 2016

The South African Weather Service has again issued a series of warnings and advisories for the Eastern Cape for Friday.

These include strong to gale force south westerly winds between Cape St Francis and Cannon Rocks, as well as damaging winds over the northern interior of the province.

Heavy rain is expected to continue over the northern eastern parts of the province, with localised urban flooding again likely along the coast between East London and Coffee Bay, and the adjacent interior between Queenstown and Mthatha.

Snowfalls are also expected in high lying areas with disruptive levels on the Southern Drakensberg Mountains, while conditions suitable for the developing of veld fires are likely over the eastern half of the province.

High discomfort values are forecasted along the coast and adjacent interior between Coega and Port St Johns, later extending to the south coast by Saturday.
