SAMREC to release healthy penguins

BY JESICA SLABBERT - AUGUST 4, 2016

The South African Marine Rescue for the Eastern Cape (SAMREC) will be releasing healthy penguins from their centre in Marine Drive, Cape Recife, back into the wild.

This after the penguins were recently treated for illnesses and fed to build up their strength.

In celebration of this, SAMREC is hosting a release event for all to see at their centre.

Preparation for their release begins at 2pm on Sunday, and until their release the workers and volunteers at SAMREC will be feeding their many other patients.

There will be an entrance fee for those, who wish to attend, R30 for adults and R20 for pensioners.

The Flying Penguin Café will be selling boerewors rolls and refreshments on the day for guests.
