SAPS 10111 trainees visit Atlas Security control room

MARCH 9, 2016

On Tuesday, the South African Police Service took a group of trainees to view the Atlas Security control room in Sydenham, Port Elizabeth.

The visit was part of a training exercise so that these new recruits can see what happens behind the scenes at a private security firm. They observed Atlas’ procedures and experiences how and when alarm signals are received.

Atlas’ control room operators demonstrated how they log these and then dispatch armed response officer and also the SAPS via the 10111 call centre. Trainees were given good insight into the protocols and procedures observed by Atlas in running its control room.

This exercise further served to strengthen the already well established relationship between Atlas Security and the SAPS.
