Significant rains recorded in several parts of the Eastern Cape

NOVEMBER 2, 2015

Significant rainfall was recorded in the past 24 hours in several parts the Eastern Cape, including Port Elizabeth and surrounding regions. The Garden Route also received good falls.

Good news for residents in the Southern part of the province is that, according to a statement from the SA Weather Services, the catchment areas of Baviaans - where the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, the Kouga and Koukama local municipalities draw their water, also received good falls.

The dams are all overflowing.

More falls were  expected in parts of the province on Monday.

"The rain will gradually start clearing form the west," said Garth Sampson, spokeperson at SA Weather office in Port Elizbeth.
