Some good rainfall in areas but not yet enough to change our water situation

According to the Port Elizabeth office of the South African Weather Service, it mixed bag as far as rainfall figures are concerned on Thursday morning.

"The most promising figure is the 22mm at Kouga dam and the 17mm at Patensie, which should give a bit of runoff, however the influence on the dam levels will be minimal," described Garth Sampson, the SA Weather Service's Client Liaison Officer  for the Eastern Cape.

"The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality dam levels are at present just over 40% full on average."

The Metro previously warned that the last 10% of this water is unusable, which means its dams, which also supply the Kouga region, are sitting at 30% full.
