Spur hosts shadow shift evening to help McWilliams Academy of Dance get to Scotland

FEBRUARY 16, 2016

The Eagle Ridge Spur in Charlo will be hosting a Shadow Shift evening on the 1st of March, in order to raise funds for the McWilliams Academy of Dance’s eight World Championship qualifiers, who are heading to Glasgow, Scotland, this year to take part in the 2016 World Irish Dance Championships.

The World Irish Dance Championships, which run for eight days annually, will take place from the 20th to the 27th of March this year.

The Shadow Shift evening will have the McWilliams Academy dancers ‘shadow’ a waiter for the evening and serve the customers. They will also be performing some dances in the restaurant every now and then, to create a fun atmosphere for both the customers and Spur staff.

After the dancers have completed their Shadow Shift, the McWilliams Academy of Dance will receive 10% of that evening’s turnover, which will go a long way in helping them get to Glasgow.

Spur has provided the Shadow Shift evening as a community service for many years, in order to help different schools, clubs and charities raise funds.

Want to get involved? Join the McWilliams Academy of Dance at the Eagle Ridge Spur in the Figtree Access Park, Charlo on the 1st of March from 6pm to 9pm. All you need to do is sit, eat and enjoy!
