Steep petrol price increase for April

BY CHARL BOSCH - MARCH 27, 2015

The Department of Energy has announced that the price of petrol will go-up by a whopping R1.62 / litre and diesel by between R1.20 and R1.22 / litre from next week Wednesday. Reason for the increase includes the rising oil prices, weak rand / dollar exchange rate as well as 80.5c increase in The Road Accident Fund and Fuel levies as announced by Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene during his budget speech last month. Illuminating paraffin will increase by 26c and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by 85c / kg.
